Mat Cutting Tutorials

Diamond Mat

1. Lay out mat in pencil on back of mat.
2. Place mat face down at 60º to right in cutter using 30/60 triangles as a support guide. Hold in place with bottom hold down. (If and odd angle is desired a support guide can easily be made using matboard.)
3. Set stops for bottom cut using guide marks on pressure foot.
4. Make bottom cut, then turn mat end for end and make opposite cut. ( If cutting a double or inlay install stop spacers and make these cuts in second color.)
5. Place mat face down at 30º to right in cutter using 30/60 triangles as a support guide. Hold in place with bottom hold down.
6. Set stops for right cut using guide marks on pressure foot.
7. Make right cut, then turn mat side for side and make opposite cut. (If cutting a double or inlay install stop spacers and make these cuts in second color.)
