Mat Cutting Tutorials
Diamond Mat
- Lay out mat in pencil on back of mat.
- Place mat face down at 60º to right in cutter using 30/60 triangles as a support guide. Hold in place with bottom hold down. (If and odd angle is desired a support guide can easily be made using matboard.)
- Set stops for bottom cut using guide marks on pressure foot.
- Make bottom cut, then turn mat end for end and make opposite cut. ( If cutting a double or inlay install stop spacers and make these cuts in second color.)
- Place mat face down at 30º to right in cutter using 30/60 triangles as a support guide. Hold in place with bottom hold down.
- Set stops for right cut using guide marks on pressure foot.
- Make right cut, then turn mat side for side and make opposite cut. (If cutting a double or inlay install stop spacers and make these cuts in second color.)
