Inlayed Mat
- The inlayed mat gives the same effect as a double mat without the added thickness.
- Cut two matboard blanks to the same outside dimensions. These will be different colors, one color for the inlay and one color for the outer portion of the finished mat.
- Please note that the outside dimensions of the mat must be accurate. If they are not accurate there will be an uneven spacing between the mat opening and the V-Groove.
- Set the spacer blocks on the carriage stops to the desired width of the inlay. For example setting the spacers on "2" will make a 1/4" inlay.
- Set the carriage stops for the desired border width. Clamp the mat blank for the inlay color in the machine. Cut the artwork opening. Rotate the spacer blocks to the "0" position and cut out the inlay. Remove the dropout, inlay piece, and outer piece from the machine.
- Place the other color mat blank in the machine and cut again. Remove the drop out and mat from machine.
- Assemble the inlay piece from the first mat board into the mat cut from the second mat board and tape from the back. The inlayed mat is ready for the artwork.
